Rodger L. Hochman, a Florida Bar "Board Certified" Health Lawyer, joined Coel & Warren, P.L. in March of 2006 as Senior Counsel in the Transactional and Regulatory Division. Mr. Hochman focuses his practice on structuring sophisticated corporate, partnership and joint venture transactions involving physicians, hospitals, and other health care providers; sales and purchases of medical practices and other health care businesses; asset protection strategies; and counseling clients on the administrative and regulatory aspects of health care law. Mr. Hochman's transactional experience extends to the representation of business clients in a variety of fields and on a broad range of topics, including business entity selection and internal governance, employment and labor issues, and real estate matters.
Mr. Hochman is active in his field with memberships in the American Health Lawyers Association, the Corporate and Health Law Section of the Florida Bar, and as a freelance writer for Florida Medical Business and numerous other publications. He is a frequent author and lecturer to the healthcare industry on a variety of topics.
Mr. Hochman received his J.D. in 1994 from Nova Southeastern University Shepard Broad Law Center, where he graduated Summa Cum Laude and received several other acknowledgements for academic achievement, most notably his designation as Class Valedictorian and his obtaining the "book award" (highest grade) in five different classes. While attending law school, he served as Associate Editor of the Nova Law Review in addition to being a contributing author. Mr. Hochman was raised in Cherry Hill, New Jersey, and first moved to South Florida in 1983 to pursue a career in radio advertising. He later completed his post-graduate studies at Nova Southeastern University and began his practice of law. He earned his Bachelor of Science Magna Cum Laude in 1981 from Boston University in Massachusetts.
Mr. Hochman has previously worked in the health law practices of prominent South Florida law firms and served as general counsel to a publicly traded company with diverse lines of business in health care services and technology.
