Mark A. Coel co-founded Coel & Warren, P.L. and continues to focus his practice on structuring sophisticated corporate, partnership and joint venture transactions involving physicians, hospitals, and other health care providers; sales and purchases of medical practices; asset protection strategies; counseling clients on the administrative and regulatory aspects of health care law; general corporate matters and state and federal tax matters.
Board certified in health law by the Florida Bar, Mr. Coel has been involved in the formation of numerous single specialty and multi-specialty group practices, independent practice associations, physician-hospital organizations and other integrated delivery systems. Mr. Coel provides counsel to physicians and other health care providers in a variety of merger and acquisition transactions and on issues such as fraud and abuse, self-referral prohibitions, the myriad of issues associated with satisfying the financial responsibility requirements under Florida law and assisting clients in the development and implementation of asset protection strategies.
Mr. Coel is active in his field with memberships in the American Health Lawyers Association, the Health Law Section of the Florida Bar, and as a freelance writer for the Florida Medical Business. He is a frequent author and lecturer to the healthcare industry on a variety of topics.
Mr. Coel was born in North Miami, Florida. He received a Bachelor of Business Administration cum laude in 1984 from the University of Miami in Coral Gables, Florida. He graduated from the University of Florida College of Law with his J.D. in 1987, where he was a member of the University of Florida Law Review from 1986 to 1987. Mr. Coel further extended his studies receiving his LL.M. in taxation from New York University School of Law.
